Robertswood is available for brief midweek getaways, extended weekends, or whole weeks. The house faces south, providing breath-taking views of the river Derwent and the Derbyshire Dales’ sweeping countryside. A great starting point for exploring Peak District National Park.

From the South
Take junction 28 of the M1 (the Alfreton exit). Turn off for the A615 to Matlock, follow this road. As you descend the hill into Matlock (Signposted) pass an Esso Garage on your left, continue forward to the town centre. At the roundabout (Crown Square) go straight ahead. As you approach Twigg’s steel works notice the Right turn that climbs up dimple road, follow this to the top (it changes to Hurds Hollow). Make a right to Smedley St, then left onto Farley Hill. We’re the first drive on the Right!
From the Northwest
Follow the A6 into Matlock town centre, at Twigg’s steel works turn left that climbs up dimple road, follow this to the top (it changes to Hurds Hollow). Make a right to Smedley St and then left onto Farley Hill. We’re the first drive on the Right!
From the North
Take junction 29 of the M1 (the Chesterfield exit) and take the A617 again for Chesterfield. At the next roundabout take the A61 to Derby. Continue on the A61 until you get to a set of traffic lights and then turn right following signs for Matlock (A632). Stay on this road for 7 miles, eventually you will then get to Matlock. At the junction of the A615 turn right and continue forward to the town centre. At the roundabout (Crown Square) go straight ahead. Getting here by public transport
Robertswood House is approximately 1 mile from the train and bus station.
The train service
Matlock has regular service via Derby and Nottingham. Stopping at other smaller stations along the way.

From Derby, Sheffield, and Chesterfield, Buses run to Matlock. Local bus services provide service to nearby towns such Baslow, Bakewell, and Chatsworth House. Information is available at the Matlock tourist information office.
